The expression if you love what you do you’ll never work a day in your life, really resonates with me. I love thinking about what to cook and caring for the guests. I know that being an innkeeper is more than fresh linens and preparing breakfast. It’s making sure that guests have a great time and have a nice stay. I want them to feel at ease as they enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. I have received a lot of phone calls asking if the room where Misty of Chincoteague was written is available to stay. I can only hope that Miss Molly would be happy that her beautiful home and tradition of hospitality is continuing. I would have loved to have met her and Marguerite Henry. I also love looking at the guest books and reading their thoughts on how their stay went. It is a time stamp that is truly appreciated. When you stay at Miss Molly’s not only are you keeping the legacy of Miss Molly alive you are stepping into history.
